Babylon Translator

Introduction

Babylon is another of those tools I use every day, definitely makes my life easier , for which I think it deserves a post. Let’s meet the translator and dictionary Babylon .

Description

Babylon offers the most powerful, easy-to-use translation tool ever. Translate words and full texts in over 75 languages, or get dictionary definitions from over 1,500 dictionaries, glossaries and encyclopedias in one simple click.

In the beginning, Babylon began as a mere sigle-word translator, but today is not only an excellent translator, but also makes measurement conversion of all kinds, currency exchange and even consult wikipedia, all with just a click away.

Babylon is a paid application, however it is an indispensable tool when you neet to do specific translations and consultations. I tried free alternatives like Lingoes but I didn’t have good experiences.

Pegtop PStart

Introduction

This is one of the apps that make my life easier, and what better way to start this section than posting an app launcher?

Description

PStart is a simple tray tool to start user defined applications. Designed to run portable applications (like portable Firefox & Thunderbird), you can start anything runnable from USB key devices or removable disks.

Despite beign an application written to launch portable programs from USB sticks, I use it everyday on my computer, and run from there all the programs that I use frequently, just by pressing the custom keyboard shortcuts previously defined by me (eg, Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+F; MSN Messenger: Ctrl+shift+M; y many more).

In conclusion, PStart is the best app launcher I’ve found (and I’ve tried several both on Windows and Linux, like Launchy), and it is probably the program that have saved me more time. Essential.

Hello world!

For a long time, I had wanted to create a blog, but different occupations (and mental excuses) have allowed me to barely open one or two mono-themed blogs (software and python), who have passed away with more pain than glory, after a couple of entries …

Now that I have finished my B.S. in CS, awaiting the commencement, I am obstinated on not falling into the rat race (those who have read Kiyosaki know what I speak) I think it is a good time to start my blog (again, if you will).

This blog has mostly selfish ends: to have a record of things that I don’t want to forget, to practice writing in Spanish and English, ending the irony of making websites for over 10 years and not have one yet… because being is not enough, one must be and appear.

But not everything is selfishness, I think that knowledge should be spread, so I’d like to share some of, in my opinion, the best programs and utilities for Windows I use, and some programming tricks that I find useful.

So, without further ado, welcome to my blog! 😀
